1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Sia Makerlab ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the SQLite Client mobile application ("App" or "Service").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SQLite Client is an Android application for working with local SQLite database files. The package name remains com.siamakerlab.sqliteviewer.

The App may provide:

  • Opening existing SQLite files through Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF)
  • Creating new empty SQLite databases
  • Receiving database files from other apps and sharing database or export files through Android system flows
  • Database overview, schema browsing, table data viewing, sorting, search, copy, and metadata inspection
  • Inline cell editing, row add/duplicate/delete, column find and replace, and BLOB import/export
  • SQL execution for read and write statements, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and DDL
  • Syntax highlighting, contextual autocomplete, multiple query tabs, transaction scripts, destructive-query confirmation, history, and bookmarks
  • Schema design tools for tables, columns, indexes, and DDL preview
  • ERD diagrams, charts, schema diff, integrity checks, foreign-key checks, VACUUM, ANALYZE, REINDEX, and selected PRAGMA editing
  • SQLCipher support for opening encrypted databases and setting, changing, or removing database passwords
  • CSV/JSON import and CSV/JSON/SQL/Markdown export
  • Safety features such as cache-copy editing, automatic backup before write-back, integrity check before save, undo/redo, and read-only fallback with Save As
  • Settings, English/Korean UI, sample databases, in-app updates, ads, and optional ad removal through Google Play Billing

The App is provided for Android devices only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the European Economic Area where applicable, to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4. User Account

The App does not require registration or a Sia Makerlab account. Google Play may require a Google account for purchases, updates, or review flows.

5. License and Restrictions

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on compatible Android devices that you own or control.

You agree not to:

  • Copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or transfer the App except as permitted by law
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code except where legally permitted
  • Remove proprietary notices from the App
  • Use the App for illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes
  • Use the App to access, alter, export, or share data that you do not own or have permission to use
  • Use the App to create, store, execute, or distribute malware or harmful code
  • Interfere with the App, Google services, or other users' systems

6. Your Data and Responsibilities

You retain all rights to database files, SQL, schemas, exported files, imported files, and other content you process using the App ("User Content"). We do not claim ownership over your User Content.

You are solely responsible for:

  • Having lawful rights to open, edit, export, share, or otherwise process each database file
  • Understanding the effect of SQL statements, schema changes, imports, exports, PRAGMA changes, encryption changes, and maintenance operations
  • Maintaining independent backups of important database files
  • Remembering SQLCipher passwords and encryption keys
  • Reviewing exported or shared data before sending it to another app or person
  • Complying with laws, contracts, privacy obligations, and third-party rights that apply to your data

7. Editing, SQL, Encryption, and Data Safety

The App is no longer limited to read-only inspection. It can modify database files when you perform editing, schema, SQL, import, encryption, maintenance, or save operations.

The App includes safety controls such as local cache-copy editing, automatic backup before write-back, integrity checks before save, WAL checkpointing, undo/redo, destructive-query confirmation, and read-only fallback when original write access is unavailable. These controls reduce risk but do not eliminate it.

You acknowledge that:

  • SQL and schema operations can permanently change or delete data
  • Imports, find/replace, PRAGMA edits, encryption changes, VACUUM, REINDEX, and other maintenance operations can affect database behavior or file contents
  • Automatic backups may not cover every failure mode and are not a substitute for your own backups
  • If you lose a SQLCipher password or key, encrypted database contents may be unrecoverable
  • The App may be unable to open, repair, display, or save some database files because of corruption, unsupported formats, permissions, encryption, device limitations, or SQLite compatibility

WE DO NOT PROVIDE DATA RECOVERY SERVICES AND ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA LOSS, CORRUPTION, DISCLOSURE, OR UNINTENDED MODIFICATION ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

8. File Access, Storage, Import, Export, and Sharing

The App uses Android's Storage Access Framework for file selection and creation. You grant file access through Android system dialogs. You may revoke access through Android settings or by clearing App data.

The App may create local cache files, temporary export files, and automatic backup copies in the App's private storage. Android, the App, or you may delete these files.

When you export, save, copy, or share data, you control the destination. Other apps or services that receive exported or shared data are outside our control.

9. In-App Purchases

The App may offer an optional "Remove Ads" purchase through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes all payment transactions. We do not collect or store payment card information.

Refunds and purchase issues are handled according to Google Play policies. Purchase restoration requires the Google account used for the original purchase and may depend on Google Play availability.

10. Advertisements and Google Services

The free version of the App may display Google AdMob ads, including banner ads and app-opening ads. The App may use Google User Messaging Platform for consent, Google Play Billing for purchases, Google Play In-App Updates for update flows, and Google Play In-App Review for optional review prompts.

We are not responsible for:

  • Ad content or advertiser claims
  • Google service availability, policies, or processing
  • Transactions or interactions between you and advertisers or Google
  • Network, device, or Google Play conditions that affect ads, purchases, updates, or review prompts

11. Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, text, graphics, icons, and other materials, is owned by Sia Makerlab or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, COMPATIBILITY, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will meet your requirements
  • The App will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or compatible with every device or database file
  • SQL execution, schema editing, import/export, encryption, backup, write-back, or maintenance operations will always succeed
  • Displayed schemas, data types, query results, diagrams, charts, diffs, or metadata will always be complete or accurate
  • Data can be recovered after deletion, corruption, failed save, lost password, or user error

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SIA MAKERLAB AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

This includes damages arising from:

  • Your use or inability to use the App
  • SQL statements, schema changes, imports, exports, encryption operations, maintenance operations, or write-back operations
  • Data loss, corruption, disclosure, or unintended modification
  • Lost SQLCipher passwords or keys
  • Device failure, operating system behavior, SAF permissions, Google services, third-party apps, or shared/exported data

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the App or in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars ($10), to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sia Makerlab and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the App, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your infringement of third-party rights.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or suspend access to the App where permitted by law, including if you violate these Terms.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide in-app notice for material changes. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Republic of Korea for disputes arising from these Terms or the App, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you mandatory rights in your place of residence.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sia Makerlab regarding the App.
