1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Sia Makerlab ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the Sia Backend Manager mobile application (the "App").

Sia Backend Manager is an independent Android developer tool for viewing and managing Firebase-based app backends — Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Storage, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging (FCM), and read-only Authentication users. It connects directly from your device to the Google and Firebase projects you are authorized to access. It does not require you to create an account with us, and we do not operate a server that stores your credentials or your data. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Independence disclaimer: Sia Backend Manager is an independent developer tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google or Firebase. "Firebase," "Google Cloud," and related marks belong to their respective owners and are used only descriptively.

2. Our Serverless, Direct-to-Google Model

The App is serverless by design. It runs entirely on your device and communicates with Google and Firebase APIs directly, using your own Google account's OAuth authorization.

  • There is no Sia Makerlab server in the path.
  • We do not collect, receive, or store your data on any server we operate.
  • The App does not store service-account JSON keys; it uses OAuth only.

Because we operate no server that sits between you and Google, the projects, documents, database nodes, files, configuration, users, and messages you view or manage travel only between your device and Google's APIs — never through us. You are responsible for ensuring you are authorized to access any project you connect to.

3. What the App Accesses via OAuth

With your consent, the App requests OAuth scopes so it can read and manage the Firebase and Google Cloud resources you choose, including:

  • Projects and apps
  • Firestore documents (view and single-document create, update, delete)
  • Realtime Database nodes (view, edit, delete)
  • Cloud Storage objects (browse, upload, download, delete)
  • Remote Config parameters (view, edit, publish)
  • Cloud Messaging (FCM) test messages to a single device token or topic
  • Authentication users (read-only)

These requests go straight from your device to Google's APIs. Data returned is displayed on your device and is not transmitted to us.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data only on your device:

DataCollectedStoredSharedPurpose
OAuth access tokenYesDevice only (encrypted)NoAuthorize calls to Google/Firebase APIs; encrypted with an Android Keystore AES/GCM key; short-lived and re-authorized on expiry
PreferencesYesDevice onlyNoTheme and security toggles
Favorites / recent projectsYesDevice onlyNoQuick access to projects you use often
Remote Config backup history (metadata)YesDevice onlyNoVersion, timestamp, and parameter count for local rollback reference
Purchase stateYesDevice onlyNoCached Pro entitlement (reconciled with Google Play)

This data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to it, and it is never transmitted to our servers. All of the above is removed when you sign out or clear the App's data.

5. Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use)

The App's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, data accessed through Google APIs is:

  • used only to provide the App's features to you;
  • not sold;
  • not used for advertising;
  • not used to train models; and
  • not read by humans except as strictly necessary and permitted (for example, with your consent, for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or to comply with applicable law).

6. Cost and Billing

Operations you perform in the App — reads, writes, downloads, uploads, and messaging — run against your Firebase and Google Cloud project and may count toward your usage and billing. The App surfaces cost and safety warnings, but you are solely responsible for the charges you incur. Sia Makerlab is not responsible for costs arising from your use of the App.

7. In-App Purchases (Pro)

The App is free to use. It offers an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks Pro features. This purchase is processed by Google Play Billing; we never receive or store your payment card details. Your Pro entitlement is cached only on your device and reconciled with Google Play.

The App does not display third-party advertising and does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party service, which handles data according to its own privacy policy:

  • Google Play Billing — processing the optional one-time Pro purchase — https://policies.google.com/privacy

8. Permissions

The App requests only the following Android permissions:

  • Internet (INTERNET): required to communicate directly with Google and Firebase APIs.
  • Network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): used to detect network availability.

The App does not request location, camera, microphone, or contacts permissions.

9. Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

  • Personal or contact information
  • Your projects, credentials, database contents, files, configuration, or messages
  • Analytics or usage-tracking data by us directly
  • Precise location data
  • Payment or card information (handled by Google Play)
  • Advertising identifiers (the App does not include advertising SDKs)

10. Data Retention

The App retains the data described in Section 4 locally on your device only until you sign out or clear the App's data (or uninstall the App), at which point it is removed. Because we operate no server and receive no data, we retain nothing about you or your projects.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is a developer tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, displaying a notice within the App or on the App's listing.
