Terms of Service

These Terms apply to a Korean single-language service distributed and used within the Republic of Korea, and are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms is to set forth the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Sia Makerlab (hereinafter the "Company") and users with respect to the use of the Sajupalja app (hereinafter the "App") provided by the Company.

Article 2 (Definitions)

• "App" means the Android mobile application that provides Ziping BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny), the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, date selection (auspicious-day selection), and compatibility interpretations.
• "User" means any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the App.
• "Content" means the source classics embedded and displayed by the App (such as Ziping Zhenquan, Qiongtong Baojian, Ditian Sui Chanwei, and Zhu Xi's Original Meaning of the I Ching), interpretive text, calculation results, and AI-generated interpretations.
• "In-App Purchase" means a one-time paid purchase (ad removal) made within the App through Google Play.
• "AI Interpretation" means a natural-language explanation generated by a self-hosted LLM regarding the calculation results of the deterministic engine.

Article 3 (Amendment of Terms)

The Company may amend these Terms when necessary, and will announce any changes through App updates or the website. A User who does not agree to the changes may discontinue use of the App and delete it.

Article 4 (Service Content)

The App provides the following features:

• Sajupalja (Ziping BaZi): calculation of the Four Pillars, the Ten Gods, Five Elements, Major Luck, Annual Luck, Monthly Luck, Daily Luck, and lifetime timeline; analysis of the structural pattern (Geokguk), Day Master strength, the Useful God (Yongsin), and seasonal climate adjustment; in-depth AI interpretation across the five major areas of the chart.
• I Ching Divination: the yarrow-stalk method and the coin method, automatic derivation of the primary and resulting hexagrams and interpretation of the line statements, and orthodox interpretation based on Zhu Xi's Original Meaning of the I Ching.
• Date Selection (Auspicious-Day Selection): a five-grade monthly calendar (Auspicious / Favorable / Neutral / Caution / Avoid), automatic derivation of auspicious deities such as the Heavenly Virtue and Monthly Virtue and inauspicious influences such as the Monthly Break and Three Killings, purpose-based score weighting (moving, marriage, business opening, examinations, etc.), and date-by-date chart compatibility and AI interpretation.
• Compatibility: comparison of the Day Pillars, Five Elements, Ten Gods, and Spirits/Sha of two profiles, compatibility scores across the five major areas, and a comprehensive AI interpretation.
• Source Classics Reader: side-by-side comparison of the original Chinese text and the Korean translation of classics such as Ziping Zhenquan, Qiongtong Baojian, Ditian Sui Chanwei, and Zhu Xi's Original Meaning of the I Ching, with full-text search (FTS).
• Today Tab: daily scores across five major categories (wealth, romance, career, health, relationships) plus the hexagram of the day, with in-depth AI interpretation by category.
• AI Natural-Language Interpretation: a self-hosted LLM provides natural-language interpretation of the rule-engine calculation results (AI is not involved in the divination itself or in core calculations such as the perpetual calendar, structural pattern, Useful God, and date-selection scores).
• Notifications: WorkManager-based local daily reminders and AI-response-completion notifications, with deep links that take you directly to the relevant screen.
• Settings: theme (system / light / dark), notifications, payment management, and data management.

The App is provided "AS IS," without any warranty as to fitness for a particular purpose or integrity.

Article 5 (Limits on Use of the Service and Academic Notice)

1. Sajupalja, the I Ching, and date selection are East Asian classical disciplines and cultural traditions. The calculation results and interpretations provided by the App are for academic and cultural reference, and are not scientifically verified predictions.
2. The App's interpretations do not replace the advice of professionals such as in medicine, law, finance, or psychological counseling. For decisions concerning health, illness, pregnancy, major financial decisions, legal disputes, and the like, you must consult a qualified professional in the relevant field.
3. The User understands and agrees that the Company shall not be liable for any choice, decision, or loss arising from blindly relying on the App's interpretations.
4. Unlike general fortune-telling apps that arrange "pleasant words," the App aims for neutral, theory-based interpretation. Results may also present negative factors or periods to be wary of, and this is in accordance with academic principles.

Article 6 (User Obligations)

The User shall not engage in the following acts:

• Using the App for unlawful purposes
• Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of the App's source code, embedded source-classic text, or interpretive content
• Unauthorized reproduction or use of the interpretations provided by the App for commercial fortune-telling parlors or paid consultation services
• Infringing the rights of others (including intellectual property rights)
• Attempting to bypass or circumvent the ad-display or in-app-purchase mechanisms
• Sending excessive requests to the AI interpretation server or abusing the service through automated means
• Bypassing or tampering with receipt-verification mechanisms such as Play Integrity

Article 7 (Intellectual Property Rights)

1. All intellectual property rights relating to the App, including its source code, UI design, interpretation engine, and translated text, belong to the Company.
2. The copyright in the original Chinese classics embedded in the App (such as Ziping Zhenquan, Qiongtong Baojian, Ditian Sui Chanwei, and Zhu Xi's Original Meaning of the I Ching) belongs to classics in the public domain; however, the copyright in the Korean translation, annotation, and edited compilation belongs to the Company.
3. The User may use the output of the AI interpretations for personal reference, but may not redistribute it commercially without authorization or reproduce it in other services.
4. Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas provided by the User to the Company may be freely used by the Company without any obligation of compensation.

Article 8 (In-App Purchases)

1. Ad Removal (one-time in-app purchase): A non-consumable one-time purchase (remove_ads) through Google Play that permanently removes in-app banner ads and app-opening ads. This is the only means of disabling those ads.
2. Billing and Refunds: All payments and refunds follow Google Play's policies. The Company does not directly process or store payment information (card numbers, etc.).
3. Purchase Restoration: The purchased item can be restored under the same Google account via Settings > "Restore Purchases."

Article 9 (Advertising)

1. The App may display Google AdMob ads. The types of ads are as follows:
   • Adaptive Banner: displayed persistently, such as at the bottom of the screen
   • App-Opening Ad: displayed when the App transitions from the background to the foreground, at intervals of at least 15 minutes (not displayed on the first cold start)
2. Purchasing the ad-removal in-app purchase removes both the banner and app-opening ads.
3. AI interpretation is available to all users free of charge, and upon a successful response a 7-day cache is automatically saved.
4. The Company is not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for transactions between advertisers and users.

Article 10 (Special Provisions Regarding the AI Natural-Language Interpretation Service)

1. AI interpretations are generated through a self-hosted LLM (vLLM Gemma family). The output of the LLM is inherently probabilistic, and different expressions may be generated for the same input.
2. The Company observes the following principles:
   • AI is not involved in core calculations such as the divination methods (yarrow stalk, coin), perpetual-calendar calculations, structural pattern, Day Master strength, Useful God, and date-selection scores. The AI merely describes, in natural language, the results produced by the deterministic engine.
   • No identifying information about the user (such as raw name and date-of-birth values) is transmitted in AI interpretation requests; it is anonymized into expert-query token form. The SHA-256 ProfileHash used for cache identification is also not included in the LLM request body.
   • AI responses are cached per screen for 7 days, and no additional request to the LLM occurs when the same input is called again. The User can remove the cache via "Delete History" in each dialog or by clearing the cache in Settings.
3. In the event of an AI server failure or delay, the App automatically falls back to an embedded rule-based template, and core calculation results can be confirmed offline as well.
4. The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the AI interpretations, and is not responsible for variations in the wording of the interpretations.

Article 11 (Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability)

The App is provided "AS IS," and the Company is not responsible for the following:

• Any decisions and choices made by the User in the course of using the App
• Damages arising from medical, legal, financial, or psychological decisions based on the App's interpretations
• Loss of on-device data due to use of the App
• Service interruptions, errors, or device-specific compatibility issues
• Damages caused by third parties (such as Google, advertisers, or LLM proxy network failures)
• Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company's total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the User to the App over the past 12 months.

Article 12 (Service Interruption and Modification)

The Company may modify or discontinue all or part of the service as necessary for operational or technical reasons, and will provide advance notice thereof, except that in urgent cases it may substitute notice given after the fact.

Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute arising between the Company and the User with respect to this service shall be subject to the court of jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.

Article 14 (Severability)

Even if any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
