1.1May 25, 2026Corrected App Open ad cooldown from 4 minutes to 4 hours and noted that the App Open ad is skipped on first launch (shown from second launch onward). Removed the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) entry — the app does not currently integrate the UMP consent SDK; ad-personalization choices are managed through Android's system "Ads" settings. 1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Sia Makerlab ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Quick Checklist mobile application (the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

The App is designed to function without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information. Checklist templates, item titles, and progress that you create are stored locally on your device only.

We do not collect:

  • Names or email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Physical addresses
  • Payment information (processed entirely by Google Play)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

2.2.1 Local Device Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

DataStoredPurpose
Checklist templates (title, icon, color, sort order, created/updated/last-used timestamps)Device only, Room databaseDisplay, sort, and use templates
Checklist items (title, checked state, sort order, timestamps)Device only, Room databaseDisplay items and progress
App settings (theme, remove-ads purchase flag, sample-seed flag)Device only, DataStorePersonalize the app and remember first-launch state
Widget-to-template mappings (appWidgetId → templateId)Device only, DataStoreRender home screen widgets and route widget taps to the correct template
App-launch counterDevice only, DataStoreSkip the App Open ad on first launch and apply the 4-hour cooldown

On the very first launch the app seeds a small set of sample templates so that the home screen is useful immediately; you may delete or edit any of them. This data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to this data and it is never transmitted to our servers.

2.2.2 Advertising Data (Third-Party)

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob via the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Our advertising partner may collect:

  • Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
  • Device information (device type, operating system version)
  • IP address
  • General location data (country / region level)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

The App displays the following types of ads:

  • Adaptive Banner Ads: Anchored at the bottom of the Main, Detail, and Settings screens; re-sized when the screen width changes (for example on rotation).
  • App Open Ads: Skipped on the very first launch. From the second launch onward, the App Open ad may be shown when the App returns to the foreground, with a minimum 4-hour cooldown between displays.

Both ad placements are hidden as soon as the user purchases the "Remove Ads" in-app product.

This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

2.2.3 In-App Purchase Data (Third-Party)

If you make an in-app purchase to remove advertisements, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We receive only:

  • Confirmation of purchase status (product remove_ads, purchased / not purchased)
  • A transaction token used for local acknowledgement

We do not receive or store any payment card information, billing addresses, or other financial data. Server-side receipt verification is not performed in the current release.

2.3 Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Required for AdMob ad serving and for Google Play Billing connectivity. No other network communication is performed by the App.

com.android.vending.BILLING

Required for in-app purchase processing (Remove Ads).

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

  • Images or video recordings
  • Personal information
  • Location data (beyond the IP-derived country/region handled by Google for ad delivery)
  • Contacts or files
  • Browsing history
  • Communication contents
  • Microphone audio

The App does not request the CAMERA, RECORD_AUDIO, location, contacts, or storage permissions.

3. How We Use Information

3.1 Local Data Usage

All locally stored data is used solely to:

  • Display, sort, edit, and reset your checklist templates and items
  • Render home screen widgets (1×1 / 2×2 / 4×2 / 4×4) and route widget taps to the matching template via the EXTRA_TEMPLATE_ID extra
  • Remember your preferences and settings, including whether you have purchased the ad-removal product
  • Enforce the App Open ad cooldown and first-launch skip rule

3.2 Third-Party Data Usage

Data collected by third-party services (Google AdMob, Google Play Billing) is used to:

  • Display personalized or non-personalized advertisements (subject to your Android system "Ads" settings)
  • Process the optional "Remove Ads" in-app purchase
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

4.2 Third-Party Service Providers

The App integrates the following third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies:

ServicePurposePrivacy Policy
Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)Advertisinghttps://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play BillingIn-app purchaseshttps://policies.google.com/privacy

The app does not currently bundle the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent SDK. Ad-personalization choices are managed through your device-level Android settings (see §6.4). A future release may add an in-app consent form; if so, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities. As we do not collect or store data on our servers, we have nothing to disclose other than what is described in this policy.

5. Data Retention

5.1 Local Data

Data stored locally on your device remains until you:

  • Delete it within the App
  • Clear the App's data through device settings
  • Uninstall the App

5.2 Third-Party Data

Data collected by third-party services is retained according to their respective privacy policies.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 For All Users

You have the right to:

  • Access: View your locally stored data within the App
  • Delete: Remove all local data by clearing app data or uninstalling the App
  • Opt-out of Personalized Ads: Manage ad personalization through your device's advertising settings (see §6.4)
  • Purchase Ad-Free Version: Remove all advertising by purchasing the "Remove Ads" option

6.2 For Users in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Under GDPR and applicable laws, you have additional rights including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restrict processing, data portability, object, and withdraw consent. Because the app does not currently bundle an in-app UMP consent form, EEA / UK / Switzerland users should manage ad personalization at the operating-system level (see §6.4). To exercise rights regarding data held by Google, please contact Google directly.

6.3 For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know, access, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

6.4 Managing Ad Personalization

You can control or reset your Android Advertising ID at any time via:

  • Android Settings → Google → Ads (reset advertising ID, opt out of ad personalization, delete advertising ID)

You can permanently remove advertising from the App at any time by purchasing the in-app "Remove Ads" product.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect locally stored data:

  • Checklist data is stored only on your device, in the App's private storage (Room database + DataStore)
  • No data transmission to servers operated by Sia Makerlab (the only outbound traffic is to Google's ad and billing infrastructure)
  • No cloud synchronization
  • No user accounts or authentication data stored

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the App is not tagged for child-directed ad treatment.

9. International Data Transfers

Data collected by third-party services may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and displaying a notice within the App for material changes.

12. Disclaimer of Liability

12.1 Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for the data collection, use, or security practices of third-party services integrated into the App, including Google AdMob and Google Play Billing.

12.2 Data Loss

We are not responsible for any loss of data stored locally on your device.

12.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. For EU users, it shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable EU law including the GDPR.
