1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Sia Makerlab ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Noise Meter mobile application (the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

The App is designed to function without requiring you to create an account or provide personal information. We do not collect:

• Names or email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Physical addresses
• Payment information (processed entirely by Google Play)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

2.2.1 Local Device Storage

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

This data is stored exclusively on your device using Android DataStore and/or Room database. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our servers. The App has no backend server of its own.

The microphone is used only for real-time dB calculation. The App does not record, save, or transmit any audio. When you are not actively measuring, the App does not hold the microphone, and it releases the recorder immediately when the App moves to the background.

2.2.2 Advertising Data (Third-Party)

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Our advertising partner may collect:

• Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
• Device information (device type, operating system version)
• IP address
• General location data (country/region level)
• Ad interaction data

The App displays the following types of ads:

• Banner Ads: An adaptive banner fixed at the bottom of the screen
• App Open Ads: A full-screen ad that may appear when you return to the App from the background, limited to once every 15 minutes (the first cold-start launch is exempt)

If you purchase "Remove Ads", both banner and App Open ads stop immediately. Ads are requested only after the GDPR consent flow (Google UMP) has completed. This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

2.2.3 In-App Purchase Data (Third-Party)

The App offers a single non-consumable in-app purchase, "Remove Ads", processed entirely by Google Play. We receive only:

• Confirmation of purchase status
• The purchase token for verification purposes

We do not receive or store any payment card information, billing addresses, or other financial data. The purchase is tied to your Google account and can be restored on a new device.

2.3 Permissions

The App requests the following permissions:

RECORD_AUDIO

Required to access the microphone for real-time sound level measurement. Audio data is processed in real time on-device only and is never recorded or transmitted.

INTERNET

Required for AdMob advertising traffic, Google UMP consent, Google Play In-App Review, and Google Play Billing.

The com.android.vending.BILLING permission, used for the "Remove Ads" purchase, is added automatically by the Google Play Billing library.

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

• Audio recordings (only instantaneous level measurements, not recordings)
• Precise location data
• Contacts or personal files
• Camera or biometric data
• Browsing history
• Communication contents

3. How We Use Information

3.1 Local Data Usage

All locally stored data is used solely to:

• Remember your app preferences and settings
• Provide core app functionality
• Provide a personalized user experience

3.2 Third-Party Data Usage

Data collected by third-party services (Google AdMob, Google Play) is used to:

• Display personalized or non-personalized advertisements (based on your consent)
• Process the in-app purchase
• Manage consent
• Prevent fraud and abuse

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

4.2 Third-Party Service Providers

The App integrates the following third-party services that may collect data according to their own privacy policies:

5.1 Local Data

Data stored locally on your device remains until you:

• Clear the App's data through device settings
• Uninstall the App

5.2 Third-Party Data

Data collected by third-party services is retained according to their respective privacy policies.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 For All Users

You have the right to:

• Access: View your locally stored data within the App
• Delete: Remove all local data by clearing app data or uninstalling the App
• Opt-out of Personalized Ads: Manage ad personalization through the App's privacy settings or your device's advertising settings
• Purchase Ad-Free Version: Remove all advertising by purchasing the "Remove Ads" option

6.2 For Users in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Under GDPR and applicable laws, you have additional rights:

• Right to Access, Right to Rectification, Right to Erasure, Right to Restrict Processing, Right to Data Portability, Right to Object, Right to Withdraw Consent

6.3 For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know, access, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

6.4 Managing Consent

Manage advertising consent through:

• In-App: Settings > Privacy & Data > Manage Privacy Settings
• Device Settings: Android Settings > Google > Ads

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect locally stored data:

• Data is stored only on your device
• No data transmission to external servers (except through third-party SDKs)
• No cloud synchronization
• No user accounts or authentication data stored

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International Data Transfers

Data collected by third-party services may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

12. Disclaimer of Liability

12.1 Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for the data collection, use, or security practices of third-party services integrated into the App, including Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, and Google UMP.

12.2 Data Loss

We are not responsible for any loss of data stored locally on your device.

12.3 Measurement Accuracy

The App provides sound level measurements for general reference purposes only. Results may vary based on device hardware and environmental conditions. Do not rely on the App for professional noise assessment or regulatory compliance.

12.4 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. For EU users, it shall be interpreted in accordance with applicable EU law including the GDPR.
